FIR against Sanjay Kumar of CSDS over alleged Misleading Data on Maharashtra Elections

A first information report (FIR) was registered against Sanjay Kumar over the alleged misleading data Maharashtra election. Kumar in one of his posts claimed that the number of voters in Maharashtra's Nashik West and Hingna Assembly rose by 47% and 43% respectively. He also claimed a fall by 38% and 36% in Ramtek and Devlali respectively. He later deleted this X-post post and apologised due to mistake in reading the data. This is to note that Sanjay Kumar is a well-known Indian political scientist, psephologist (election analyst), and Professor at the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies (CSDS), New Delhi. He is one of the leading figures in the field of electoral politics and survey research in India.
